Managing Successful Programmes
UKAS/OGC/APMG Accredited Training Company Event - Registration 002
Overview
MSP programme management brings together related projects to manage their interdependencies. This event has been designed and developed by two of our most experienced consultants to exceed the APMG standards, and is licensed to affiliates worldwide. MSP provides those responsible for managing programmes with a structure which will help them towards delivering the business benefits.
Designed For
This accredited course is suitable for any organisation or individual seeing the need for a controlled approach to managing programmes. The course is also suitable for Programme Directors or Senior Responsible Owners, Programme Managers, experienced project managers moving into programme management, programme support managers and senior managers from any discipline with involvement in programmes.
Project Managers seeking higher responsibility within their organisations will benefit from understanding the strategic view taken by MSP. The event should not, however, be viewed as “advanced project management” as the two disciplines are quite different in their approach.
Objectives
The key objectives of this course are:
- Provide Delegates with an understanding of the benefits and principles underlying a structured approach to programme management.
- Apply the principles of MSP to programmes within a work environment.
- Operate effectively with colleagues and managers within a structured programme and project management environment.
- Enable delegates to understand the MSP framework to be prepared to sit the APMG/OGC MSP examinations.
Approach
The course is a mixture of input and practical sessions, delivered by an APM Group approved trainer with practical experience of programme and project management.
A Pre-event preparation pack will be sent to everyone attending this event. The course is built around the APM Group syllabus and all the materials are formally accredited by the APM Group. A specially written case study, is used by all Accredited Training Organisations delivering MSP training. A depth of knowledge of this case study is a pre-requisite for getting the most value from the course and for success in the MSP Practitioner examinations.
Practical sessions will be on an individual and team basis focusing on the Foundation examination (Thursday afternoon) and the Intermediate and Practitioner examinations on the morning of the final day. The consolidation and Practitioner exam preparation enables exam candidates to review parts of the Method with the Event Manager and practice written answers. Personal feedback is available on SPOCE´s open events from a separate “Coach” – a unique feature designed to improve your chances of exam success and which is only experienced on SPOCE open events.
