1. What is UPMM™?
Unified Project management methodology (UPMM™) is a process knowledge management tool that delivers a step-by-step process and guide to project management right to the desktops of any user through web-based technology. This allows for repeatable and consistent application of project management processes throughout the organization.

2. How can organizations license UPMM™?
UPMM™ is acquired via a Limited License (10 users) or an Enterprise License (unlimited users).

3. How is UPMM™ deployed?
The UPMM™ is a web-based tool that is usually deployed on the organization’s Intranet. IIL will provide your administrators and users both training and consulting on deployment. However, deployment is typically very straightforward, as is customizing your deployment for the needs of your organization.

4. Is it difficult to implement the UPMM™ across the organization?
No, the UPMM™ is web-based, interactive, and easy to use. As a first step the UPMM™ may be deployed on the organization’s Intranet and recommended for use on projects, or as guidance.

5. Does IIL provide UPMM™ training?
Yes, IIL will train your administrators and users. IIL has developed a course that provides an overview on project management fundamental principles integrated with a workshop on how to use the UPMM™.

7. Can organizations host UPMM™? Can IIL host it?
Organizations typically host UPMM™ on their intranet. Though, IIL will consider hosting it on a case by case basis; please contact IIL for details about this option.

UPMM™ is a customizable off the shelf tool that will grow with your organization as you build your best practices in it. All of the content in the tool is customizable by the client. The administration portal will seamlessly help you scale and customize UPMM™ to your unique business needs.

All the steps from PMI’s PMBOK Guide – Third Edition are included in the UPMM™ PMBOK Project Type and organized by the process groups of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing. This provides project managers a flawless and intuitive action pathway through the PMBOK Guide – Third Edition . It also assures organizations that their project managers will follow the world’s prevailing industry standard. In addition, we have created templates to complement every output in the PMBOK Guide – Third Edition .

UPMM™ is currently available in English and Spanish. However, IIL will work with organizations to customize the content to deliver it in other languages.

16. Does UPMM™ integrate with Microsoft Office Project?
Yes, UPMM™ is designed to integrate with MS Project and all your project management tools. Your project schedules will be more accurate because all project steps are considered. This integration allows project planners to import your organization’s customized project management methodology into their MS Project activity lists and Gantt charts. It also ensures that project management rigor is applied in the project schedule. Users can load in steps from any UPMM™ project type (simple or complex) into their MS Project schedule activity list.

17. Can UPMM™ help prepare for the PMI’s PMP certification exam?
Yes, UPMM™ provides just-in-time training reinforcement at each step of the project management process. The PMBOK Guide – Third Edition is delivered electronically. UPMM™ has an extensive library of instructional documents that describe the full range of project management topics, white papers and process descriptions. UPMM™ project management knowledge areas leverage all of IIL’s intellectual capital and core competencies in project management knowledge. It is a repository for best practices, a tutorial and self-paced learning.

Yes, IIL assists clients with all UPMM™ questions relating to project management, the tool’s methodology and technology. In fact, user support is available on line from the UPMM™ itself. Under maintenance agreements, clients also receive UPMM™ upgrades and enhancements.
