Rick Castellini, host of Castellini on Computers
"Bob Umlas is a Microsoft® Valued Professional (MVP) who put his nearly 20 years of Excel experience into a book called: This isn’t Excel, it’s Magic! Bob shares many excellent tips for the experienced Excel user that will save time and energy when working with spreadsheets. A beginner may be a little daunted by some of the tricks, but will appreciate them once they get to know Excel. The book is well illustrated and narrated. I like to see computer books written a little more step-by-step than this one, but for Bob’s target market, it works well"

Mobility Today
One of the biggest "perks" of attending the MVP conference in Redmond was the opportunity to chat with folks from all over the world. I had the unique opportunity to chat with Bob Umlas, an expert in Microsoft® Excel. If you have questions about how to use Microsoft® Excel then Bob probably has the answers. He’s an Excel expert, author of more than 300 articles about Excel, and a Microsoft® Most Valuable Professional (MVP) since 1995.

BellaOnline
What a handy little book chuck full of hints, tips and techniques by Bob Umlas. I have been studying Excel for longer than I care to admit and I have taught it at all levels to hundreds of professional students. Yet I consider my knowledge of the subject miniscule compared to the author’s breadth of skill

"Bob Umlas is an amazing guy. He has been an Excel MVP since the program began. He has a reputation among the MVPs as being the guy who can find amazing things in Excel. This book contains 85 tips about Excel. I was amazed as I went through the book that I had never heard of at least 50 of these tips! They are cool things that you can do with Excel. Even if you are the Excel guru in your office, you will find new tips in this book. At 142 pages, it is packed with cool stuff."
- Bill Jelen, aka Mr. Excel

"(This isn’t Excel, it’s Magic! is) a simple, but amazingly useful book. Very clever! Bob has produced a compact, but brilliantly useful book of shortcuts, formula secrets and tricks. Amazingly there is no Visual Basic (macro) coding in this book. It is all done using Excel’s built in features and formulae capabilities. One thing I loved about this book is it tackles ‘real world’ problems. This is not a book for Excel beginners. However, if you use Excel professionally or fun then you absolutely should consider grabbing a copy of this highly useful and informative book. It will save you many hours of work and delight you at the same time,"
- Darryl Collins, Excel/VBA developer
