This topic explores the practical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) to the project management community – organizations, project managers, tools, and practices. Like the adoption of mainframes, PCs, Networking, the Internet, Cloud computing, elements of successful project management depended on understanding the benefits and risks of technology insertion and use.  

AI is a global movement that is transforming the landscape of business operation and the future of work, as recognized by leading researchers such as Paul Boudreau in his book Applying Artificial Intelligence Tools to Project Management. AI has implications for the global project management community and operational efficiency for hundreds of thousands of project managers. 

About Eugene Bounds

Eugene is a Strategy and Management Consultant with three decades of Information Technology and Program Execution experience.
He served on the Global Board of Directors Project Management Institute Global Board of Directors from 2007-2012 and was elected Board Chair in 2010. He received the PMI Fellow award in 2017.

Euguene earned an M.S. degree in Information Systems from the University of Southern California and a B.B.A. degree in Information Systems from Texas Tech University.

He is a retired U.S. Air Force officer. He additionally served as Director of Civil Agencies at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute and as Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton.
