The success of IPM Day is a collective achievement, and a significant contributor to this success is Dr. Harold Kerzner, Ph.D., MS in Engineering, and MBA. Dr. Kerzner is a Senior Executive Director at the International Institute for Learning, Inc., and Professor Emeritus of Systems Management at Baldwin Wallace University.
Join IIL on November 7, 2024, for a special event: “Celebration! We’re Gonna’ Have a Good Time!” as we commemorate the 20th Anniversary of International Project Management (IPM) Day, a special day that recognizes the great work that project managers do every day all over the world. This milestone marks two decades of our award-winning, global online project management conference.
As we celebrate 20 years of IPM Day conferences, we also honor Dr. Kerzner’s remarkable impact through “The Kerzner Chronicles.” This 4-part video series (approximately 60 seconds each) highlights his extraordinary business achievements and thought leadership in project, program, and portfolio management, spanning from 2004 to 2024. Each Chronicle will run as short breaks between each of the 5 Keynote Presenters.
Over the past two decades, Dr. Kerzner has played a pivotal role in advancing project management practices worldwide. He has shared his unparalleled insights at 19 International Project Management Day online conferences and authored over 10 best-selling books that have profoundly shaped the field.
Respected globally for his innovative approaches and thought leadership, Dr. Kerzner’s contributions are central to our celebration of the 20th Anniversary of IPM Day on November 7, 2024.

About Dr. Harold Kerzner
Dr. Harold Kerzner, Ph.D. is Senior Executive Director at the International Institute for Learning (IIL). He is a globally recognized expert on project management and strategic planning, and the author of many best-selling textbooks including Innovation Project Management: Methods, Case Studies, and Tools for Managing Innovation Projects (Wiley, 2019) and Project Management Next Generation: The Pillars for Organizational Excellence (Wiley, 2022).
For 50 years, Dr. Kerzner has shared vital guidance for making project management a strategic tool for competitive advantage and helping companies around the world build a powerful foundation for company improvement and excellence.
Dr. Kerzner has an MS and Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Utah State University. He is a former Air Force Officer and spent several years at Morton-Thiokol in project management. He taught engineering at the University of Illinois and business administration at Utah State University and for 37 years taught project management at Baldwin-Wallace University.
