PMP Prep FAQ

Currently IIL offers both Traditional and Virtual Classroom deliveries.

The course descriptions found on our website contain all of the needed information. This program satisfies the required prerequisite of 35 hours of project management education/training to sit for the PMP Exam.

 

A combination of education and/or professional experience is required for the PMP exam and certification. The PMI Authorized PMP Exam Prep course provides candidates with the mandatory 35 contact hours of training required by PMI to submit your application for the PMP exam and certification. PMI only grants PDUs to those who hold a PMI certification; if you are taking the PMI Authorized PMP Exam Prep course and have a PMI certification, you are eligible to apply for PDUs.

  • Access to digital course materials including the Student Manual, PM Checklists, Course Files, Spotlight Videos, Pre and Post Course Self-Knowledge Checks and the Post-Class Survey.
  • Access to the following:
    • Six (6) months access to two (2) on-demand IIL programs: Introduction to Project Management and Introduction to Agile and Scrum
    • 90 days access to ProjectManagementIQ® – IIL’s exam-simulation tool packed with over 1,200 questions to help prepare you for the PMP Exam.

Your computer will need the following general hardware configurations:

  • 2 gigabytes (GB) of Random-Access Memory (RAM).
  • 32 GB available storage space.
  • Monitor capable of a screen resolution of at least 1,024 × 768 pixels, at least a 256-color display, and a video adapter with at least 4 MB of memory.
  • Keyboard and mouse or a compatible pointing device.
  • Internet access (contact your local network administrator).

Software

You will need Microsoft Office applications to access the sample documents and templates.

  • Microsoft® Office 365 license (which provides the Microsoft Office apps)

Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from IIL for 35 hours of training, which will satisfy the prerequisite to sit for the exam.

IIL’s ProjectManagementIQ® contains over 1200 PMP® exam practice questions and is provided to participants for 90-days (starts from the date of workshop enrollment)

PMI® administers the exam. You are responsible for contacting PMI® to apply for, purchase and set up your exam. You must communicate with them directly regarding how long you have to take the exam, what to do if you need an extension, exam results, and retake information. Please visit PMI®’s PMP Exam Preparation webpage for additional information regarding the application process, study tips, FAQ’s and exam information.

PMI® will provide the certificate to you.

The new exam is comprised of:

  • 180 questions
  • 230 minutes to complete the exam
  • One additional break for a total of two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests. No scheduled breaks for paper-based exams.
  • Questions will be a combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank. See prototype questions to learn more.

Yes. However, one attempt at the official certification exam is included in every DASM and DASSM training workshop fee. You will only receive the official certification if you take and pass the corresponding exam.

Course recordings will be made available for seven (7) calendar days after the last day of class for anyone who misses a session and ONLY for the session(s) missed.

No. All days/sessions must be attended in order to qualify for the exam.

Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from IIL

The exams are administered by PMI.

The DASM and DASSM exams are administered through Pearson VUE. Exams are taken online after the course has ended and attendance has been verified by the PMI Disciplined Agile Team. You will receive an email regarding the exam from [email protected] with additional details.

  • Operating System: Windows 10, 64-bit, Mac OS X 10.13 or higher
  • Internet Browser: Pearson VUE supports the newest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari
  • Internet cookies must be enabled and pop-up blockers must be disabled.
  • Resolution: Screen resolution must be equal to or greater than 1024 X 768
  • Internet Connection: You will need a sustained, high speed, Internet connection for the duration of the exam.
  • Network Connection: Pearson Strongly Recommends using a wired network rather than a wireless network as it provides better exam delivery performance.

No. All exams are taken online, outside the classroom.

Both the DASM and DASSM exams are online, non-proctored exams including 50 multiple-choice questions. The total exam appointment is 120 minutes—30 minutes for the introduction, tutorial, and survey and up to 90 minutes for completing the exam.

The DASM and DASSM exams are accessed through your myPMI Dashboard.

Exams are available for 60 days from the date your attendance is verified in the course.

All exam extension requests need to be handled by contacting PMI directly.

Initial results will be available to you immediately after you submit your completed exam.

To view your exam results immediately after taking the exam you can do so from your Pearson Vue Dashboard by clicking on “View Score Reports”.

After you have passed the DASM or DASSM certification exam and results have been validated, your official certificate and digital badge will be available to you through your myPMI Dashboard

You may retake the exam two more times within the 60-day exam access period if you do not pass the first attempt. Each retake costs $150.00 USD and is payable directly via your myPMI dashboard.

If you do not pass the exam after three attempts, you must retake the training course.
