A guide to earning your recertification/maintenance credits with International Institute for Learning

Do you hold a certification with Project Management Institute, Scrum Alliance, or Society for HR Management? If the answer is yes, then you can receive the following credits by attending International Project Management Day to maintain your respective certification. Please click on each credit below for more information on what they are and how to claim them.

What are PDUs?

Professional Development Units (PDUs) are one-hour blocks of time that you spend learning, teaching others, or volunteering. By accumulating and tracking these over a three-year period you can maintain your certification status with PMI.

How do I report PDUs?

To report PDUs to PMI®, perform the following steps:

  1. Open your browser and go to PMI.org.
  2. Click the Log In button located at the top right of the screen.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Click on the MyPMI drop down and click “Dashboard”.
  5. Click the “Report PDUs” button.
There are three categories of PDUs:
  • Ways of Working (formerly Technical Project Management)
  • Business Acumen (formerly Strategic Project Management)
  • Power Skills (formerly Leadership)
PDUs can fall into one or more categories.

What are SEUs?

Scrum Education Units (SEUs) are one-hour blocks of time that you spend continuing your Scrum education. This could be time spent reading articles, volunteering, attending events, and taking courses. Each hour equals one SEU. By accumulating and tracking these over a two-year period you can maintain your certification with Scrum Alliance.

How do I report SEUs?

You will need to report your SEUs directly with Scrum Alliance through your Scrum Alliance Dashboard. You will need the following information:

PDU Activity Details

The provider name for all activities is International Institute for Learning, Inc. (IIL).
The Claim Code, duration, and PDU details for each keynote, presentation, and course are shown below.

**these PDUs can be subject to slight adjustments once presentations are finalized.

  • The category of SEU
  • The title of the session
  • The name of the speaker/facilitator

What are PDCs?

Professional Development Credits (PDCs) are credits that Society for HR Management (SHRM) Certification holders can use to maintain their certifications. SHRM recertification is required every three years.
